Conduct / Direct

I am a conductor and music director with over 15 years’ experience leading children’s, school, community, and adult choirs – including orchestras and instrumental ensembles – across a wide range of contexts.

My approach is grounded in the belief that music has the power to connect, inspire, and transform – bringing people together through shared artistry and expression. Whether I’m working in schools, the community, or the theatre, I aim to create an inclusive and creative environment full of energy and joy.

My journey began as a conducting intern with Lyn Williams AM and Mark O’Leary OAM – two mentors who deepened my appreciation for the expressive power of the human voice. Since then, I have made it my mission to create inclusive, dynamic environments to make great music and have plenty of fun!

I have served as Children’s Chorus Master for West Australian Opera’s productions of Hansel and Gretel, The Nightingale, Koolbardi wer Wardong, and Our Little Inventor, as well as Freeze Frame Opera’s award-winning production of The Little Prince.

Since founding West Australian Young Voices (WAYV) in 2013, I have directed and mentored hundreds of young singers, fostering their confidence, musicianship, and a life-long love of the arts.

Within school settings, I am an experienced director of choirs from pre-primary to Year 12, including auditioned vocal ensembles to massed choirs and orchestras. I am also frequently engaged to lead vocal and pedagogical workshops.

I have founded and directed many professional and community ensembles, including The Rejoyce Choir, West Australian Vocal Ensemble (WAVE), Encore Ensembles, and Quire Voices. I have also been fortunate to be Chorus Master alongside Maestro Brad Cohen for West Australian Opera’s 2018 production of Don Giovanni.

Liturgically, I have directed music at St. Mary’s South Perth (2015) and am regularly called upon by Dr. Joseph Nolan as a stand-in conductor for services and special events with the St. George’s Cathedral Consort.

When it comes to repertoire, I enjoy curating a diverse blend of styles and genres, from classical and choral works, to pop, music theatre, jazz, and contemporary. I am always mindful of matching the music to the singers’ calibre and ability, while challenging and exciting participants through meaningful and engaging rehearsals.

My philosophy is simple — I am dedicated to helping others grow in confidence, find their voice, and experience the deep sense of unity that only music can offer.
